7th – 12th Grades

Our Center Stage program embraces a diverse community and is open to students in 8th through 12th grade/ entering college. With a focus on process-based theatre, Center Stage invites students to enhance their current skills with challenging scripts that expand on movement, characterization, and vocal technique, with an overall goal of achieving greater self-esteem and encouraging inclusion and personal confidence.

Center Stage – Is There A Doctor In The House? A Western Comedy!

Grades 7th – 12th

Center Stage students are invited to journey back to the days of the “Wild West” in this crazy western melodrama! Lucy Canary, daughter of the greedy Mayor Canary, refuses to marry the man her father has chosen- Otis Lackginger. While he may be rich, Otis is as old as the hills and certainly not the husband Lucy wants. In order to avoid the wedding, Lucy pretends to be sick, but is unable to share her plan before she “loses her voice”! Now everyone is scrambling to find a doctor to save a wedding that nobody wants to happen in the first place! Filled with slap-stick drama, hilarious characters and western shenanigans, this hootin’ and hollerin’ comedy is not to be missed!

Center Stage – 10-Minute Plays!

Grades 7th – 12th

We invite our Center Stage Students to challenge themselves with a day of intense yet theatrical fun! In just one Saturday, we’ll produce and perform a selection of 10-minute plays! With their peers, students will select, rehearse, and perform a 10-minute play in under 7 hours! Culminating in a shared performance for family and friends, this “Play in a day” class is perfect for young actors who are looking to put their acting and directing instincts to the test!
